Société de Ciments de Gabès begins kiln shutdown

Work on the kiln shutdown at Société de Ciments de Gabès cement plant in Tunisia began on 23 June 2022. The work is being carried out by Sotuqua.  The plant , which belongs to the Secil group has a cement capacity of 1.29Mta and is situated on the east coast of Tunisia.

Secil Group rebrands

Portugal-based cement producer Secil has undergone a rebranding exercise to demonstrate how its four business areas complement each other in terms of flexibility and knowledge. The UNIBETÃO concrete brand will become known as Secil Concrete, while the aggregates brand Secil Britas will now be known as Secil Aggredos. The cement business will be renamed Secil Cimento. Seciltek, the group’s range of construction solutions and materials, will remain the same.
